Ruth - bass/vocals :: Julian - production/guitars/vocals :: Paul - guitar :: Dave - drums"drinkme are fast earning a reputation as one of London’s most dynamic, innovative and exciting new live bands, They promise to be the breakthrough sensations from the current “Permanent Wave” scene, mixing influences as diverse as 80s electronica, 70s punk and ska and 90s Britpop.
The band formed when guitarist / singer Julian (Whitey, Siobhan Fahey) and bassist / vocalist Ru (Echobelly) began writing tracks together, melding their individual tastes into a tapestry of polished melodies and biting lyrics."-drinkmetheband.co.uk

| Interview |
Below is an e-mail interview between RadioMojo.com and Julian of drinkme.
How did you two (Ruth & Julian) end up writing music together?
We met when Ruth was 15, and she was a sex kitten before she knew what
it was, so we waited until she was legal, and then started writing
together with her mainly on Keyboards, then she graduated to
bass/vocals when we realised how she controlled the stage.
Did you have different styles before meeting?
Yes
Is Manifesto the exception or the norm for the style of music we can expect from drinkme in the future?
drinkme is like a packet of Revels: You never know what you're gonna get
Who produced the new album? And why did you work with this person?
I produced it, because I wanted to, and Ruth had no choice.....
How did you get started in playing your respective instrument?
Which one? Started piano/trumpet/violin/singing when i was 5, guitar
when I was 9, and everything else just followed
How many other bands have you been a part of?
About 15
Why the name Drinkme? And is it in reference to Alice in Wonderland?
Yes. drinkme is when she shuts up like a telescope.
What’s on your iPod(aka, what music are you currently listening to)?
Talk Talk mostly, Radiohead and Elbow, and !!! and Adam Ant
What’s your take on the state of British Music?
When? Now or then? Best music in the world mostly, and the most
embarrassing occasionally. Inventive and twisted
What’s the craziest thing you would put on a concert rider for the fun of it?
A gigantic inflatable syringe injecting bubbles into the audience
Dream concerts: Who would you like to open for? Who would you like to open for you?
We would be opening for Bowie, with The Rapture opening for us with
Pete Doherty (Libertines/Babyshambles) on guitar teching and boot
buffing duties
What’s it mean to you to be voted Band of the Year?
We are humbled and very very pleased. Thank you so much.
Best Venue to play at?
Razzmatazz in Barcelona
Most memorable goof up on stage?
Goof up? Ruth kicking me off stage. She still has not had her
comeuppance yet. She should expect it when she least expects it.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not recording/gigging?
There is not a time when I am not recording/gigging, but watching a
good film would have to be the answer. With a beautiful intelligent
friend.
