This Just In!!!
RadioMojo.com just learned that our favorite cat-shaving trio from Seattle has set a date for their sophomore release. Visqueen will be dropping Sunset on Dateland September 21st with a tour to correspond. As soon as we get our hands on a copy, we'll be sure to add a few singles to the rotation.
While you wait for September to come, go read Craig's latest rant.

If you're in the Seattle area on July 23rd and want to help free the West Memphis 3, then head over to Neumos for a WM3 benefit concert featuring the Supersuckers, RadioMojo.com friends Visqueen and The Black Panties. Secret surprise guests are also supposed to be at the show. I know Eddie Vedder is a huge WM3 supporter, so who knows. . .
If you don't know who the West Memphis 3 are or if you'd like more information on how to help or other benefit shows, visit www.wm3.org.

Buh Bye Lollapalooza! Perry and friends couldn't sell enough tickets according to the Lollapalooza website(and many other news sites at that). I can just picture the merchandise now. . . 'I bought tickets to Lollapalooza and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.' This has opened much debate as to the future of such eclectic festivals. Although stationary festivals such as Bonnaroo or well themed tours such as the Warped Tour and Ozzfest do well, the more artistic shows do not. It's a shame. It could have been great for bands like Modest Mouse and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. And everyone will blame Morrissey and Sonic Youth as two reasons the festival didn't take off. Although both have new albums with OK reviews, many think they're too old and not pulling as well as Ozzy or other bands doing reunion tours. Take a look at the lineups from past Lollapalooza tours. At least 2-3 awesome bands that were popular those years(and longer). Maybe next year Perry.
In station news, there's a new rant up from Mike and new bio pictures of the RMC staff. Enjoy.

Awesome Jem concert last night. We were also lucky enough to spend about an hour with Jem for an interview. That audio will be coming in the next few days along with a review of Jem's set. For now, check out some pictures from the interview and the show.

RollingStone has a good review up about Bonnaroo. If you don't know about Bonnaroo, it's a music festival held in Tennessee with an eclectic mix of acts. From Dave Matthews to Primus to Bob Dylan.
In other news, RadioMojo air man Craig turned 27. He joins the ranks with Mike, but since we act like the sum of our age here in Mojoland(2+7=9), they're both getting along fine as spoiled 9 year old brats.
And just a last minute reminder that Jem is playing tonight at Iota in Arlington, VA. If you're in the area, check out the show.

Some new local music of interest; Hetradyne and Down To This. Two different genres, however both are highly talented groups to listen to. Hetradyne is redesigning their website (www.hetradyne.com) but their old music page with three songs is still active at www.hetradyne.com/sounds.html. "Blood Love" is currently in our rotation so keep listening for it. Down To This is another great hard rock band from DC. Their website is www.downtothis.net and you can grab some of their new songs on their Media page. The track "Echoes" is currently in our playlist too.
In local shows, Spectre is playing Saturday, June 12th at The Shark Club in Merrifield, VA. If you haven't checked them out yet, you really need to. Word has it they'll be doing a show in August with Down To This, so we'll keep you posted. That is sure to be a hot show.
The hot new Welsh artist Jem is playing at Iota in Arlington, VA on June 15th and Fletcher's in Baltimore, MD on June 16th. If you're not in the DC Metro area then check out Jem's Tour page for more dates.
Keep sending your requests and feedback to us.
How's THAT for an update?!

Taylor Carson has a new song out and available for download in the mp3 section of washingtonpost.com. So go take a listen to 'Dream Naked' and then go catch Taylor live.
We'd like to extend a welcome to all the listeners from WDUBradio.com. WDUBradio had to close it's doors after serving the Cleveland and Northern Ohio area for a few years. We welcome all those listeners and bands and hope to have some Local Mojo info for Cleveland up soon.
In station news, our new Contact page is up. So if you want to leave us feedback or make a request, please use the contact page as the e-mail addresses will be turned off. Damn spammers.

Playlist has been updated with more on the way. So much good music out there that FM radio isn't covering that our hands are full trying to get it on the station for you. So keep listening.
Also, hop over to www.jem-music.net and take a gander. Jem(right) hails from Wales and isn't really rock. . . more of a mix of breakbeats and pop, but some of her tunes contain creative guitar riffs. If anything, her Dido/Sarah McLachlan voice is sure to entrance you. That's ( n-tr ns ) not ( n tr ns). Just check here if you can't figure it out. Anyway, Jem was recently signed to Dave Matthews' ATO Records. Her songs have already been featured on various shows like "The OC" and her bass filled slow jams are sure to be thumping around your neighborhood this summer. If you'd like to see her live, you may have to wait until Fall. She's done a few shows using a Digital Audio Tape(DAT) as backup or an acoustic guitar, but word has it she's practicing with a live band which should make for an outstanding concert.

I just found this pretty complete history of KMFDM, www.djmaharaja.com/kmfdm/ If you don't know who/what KMFDM is then you really should read. Some of the most creative Industrial sounds ever made are from them. Their video for "A Drug Against War" was unmistakable during 120 minutes and Headbangers Ball on MTV back in the early '90s.

The first single, "Followed the Waves", is playing in the UK with the US release set for May 18th. Check out the "Followed the Waves" video at her site, www.aufdermaur.com. The US House of Representatives have issued their list of dirty words not to be said on air. Just think how much fun someone had typing these up. `S#&*', `P@%%', `F@&$', `C*%@', `A$$hole', and the phrases `C*$% Sucker', `Mother F@&$er', and `A$$ hole'.
Make sure you don't confuse 'C*$% Sucker' with 'C*%@ Sucker'. I'm surprised you can even say the word 'Sucker'. The bill is here.

In honor of Valetine's Day we were going to play every death, thrash, hate metal song out there. but we thought we'd be nice to all the couples and just update our music library instead. So if you hear little blips or the same songs repeating over and over, that's just us getting busy. {wink, wink}

This is the greatest news ever. I know Family Guy isn't music related, but it's still great news if it's true.
On a more serious note, we'd like to say good luck to Steve Dawson from Virginia Coalition. Steve is leaving VACO to spend time with his wife and new baby. Best of luck Steve.
And lastly, thanks to Craig for this great holiday present. I can't believe they actually make this stuff.
And remember, you can always vote for the bands you want to see live through the Tourvote links on the site.
