Lessons we've learnt lately.
  1. Don't let Jack White produce your CD because he might beat you up afterward.
  2. Kim Warnik, Ben Hooker and Rachel Flotard of Visqueen need to take acting classes. See the trio in their newly released video for "Mrs. Elder."
  3. "S" comes after the letter "R" in the alphabet.
  4. 3against1 also has a video out. Check out their live version of "Monster".
  5. TourVote rocks. Vote for the bands you want to see live.
There might have been more, but we forgot it already.

The Grammy nominations are out. Kind of a bleack year for Rock/Alternative.
Here's the list of nominees.

00:28AM EDT Wed Dec 03, 2003
Its that time of year again when everyone puts together the top lists of the year. Top movies. Top political moments. Top celebrity breakups.
Well Rolling Stone has come through for us with their 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time. We're thinking of doing a top 10 list ourselves. The Top 10 Worst Jokes Told By Craig. Or maybe the Top 10 Pickup Lines Used By The Dude. We're not sure yet but we won't let you down.

A few more sites got face lifts.
3against1 spiffed up their site a bit. Check it out at www.3against1.com. Check out the flash intro and the new nav on the left.
7th Standard went for a whole new look. It can be found at www.7thstandard.com. Make sure you check out their mp3's.

Visqueen, Matt Groening and Craig in a Tutu.

Our darlings (and Ben) in Visqueen are finally hitting the East Coast of the US. If you're in the Hoboken area(that's New Jersey), you better head over to Maxwell's on Halloween. Word has it that the show will be off the hook. For the rest of their tour, chech out the calendar section of visqueenonline.com.

Simpson's fans! Matt Groening is curating a concert series in Los Angeles. All Tomorrow's Parties Pacific(ATP Pacific). So, what does curating a concert series mean? It means Matt got to choose the talent. Sonic Youth, Built to Spill, Modest Mouse, etc. . . If you don't live in the LA area, ATP will be coming to the UK and New York, although with different curators. More info at atpfestival.com.

If you didn't notice yet, the RadioMojo.com Newsletter signup page is ready for action. Go give it some loving and sign up to be notified of major RMC events, news, chit-chat, etc. . . We think you'll be amused.

No, we're not changing our colors for Halloween.

And finally, here's Craig in a tutu.

Oops!!! Sorry. Wrong costume.

There we go. That's the right one.

20:29PM EDT Mon Sep 22, 2003
We've just been too torn up about Zwan disbanding to write anything. Why do you keep teasing us Billy! Why!!!!!!! You take away our Pumpkins and now you take away our Zwan?!?

*sigh*

*sniff*

We'll write more later. But big updates are on the way.

12:10AM EDT Wed Aug 27, 2003
Just some quick updates.
We're updating the rotation, so keep checking back for that. We know a lot of you like to see what the newest music being played is and we won't let you down.

More importantly, if you're in the Washington, DC area, you need to head to Arlington, VA on Thursday night to Ragtime. RadioMojo has found a great two/three piece band(sometimes with/out a percussionist) that everyone must check out - Taylor Carson. Taylor plays original acoustic rock(Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson) with a freestyle/flow feel. He'll mix covers of "Rocket Man" and "Prince of Bel Air" into his own works, and unless you recognize the vocals, you wouldn't even know it was a cover. Taylor definitely has his own style that could easily be transferred from a small club to an amphitheatre.

Playing bass with Taylor is Scott Harlan, a fantastic musician in his own right. Playing together, the two just let their jams permeate into everyone's ears. Alone, they both can hold their own. Expect to hear Taylor do some solo songs, and if he breaks a string, stay put and listen to Scott's funk grooves. And if you're nice, maybe he'll play "Flight of the Bumble Bee." Yes, a bassist playing "Flight of the Bumblee Bee."

So clear your schedule and head over to Ragtime Thursday night(August 28th). The set should start around 10PM and no cover.

11:42PM EDT Thu Jul 17, 2003
Here are a few quick updates:
We've got a review up of the Kill Hannah show in DC. Don't miss KH if they're playing in a town near you.

Visqueen is about to head out into a Midwest tour. Keep checking back for their dates.

Summer Sanitarium is about to hit DC. If anyone is going, drop us a line about how it went down.

Jack White of White Stripes fame broke his hand while jerking off for Rene Zellweger in a car. Or something like that.

And last but not least, hop on over to this page and vote for RadioMojo friends 3against1 under the Hard Rock category at the bottom. They're in the final stages of a battle of the bands sponsored by AT&T and need a final push from their fans. We know you like them since you've been hearing them on Mojo for the past couple of months. Launch the page, click on the circle next the "3against1 - 'It's Over'", enter your e-mail address and click submit. It's that simple. You have until July 31st to vote!

9:44PM EDT Wed Jul 9, 2003
Shows! Shows! Shows!
You've heard us talk about Kill Hannah. They're the awesome, newly signed band out of Chicago that's almost a modern day US version of the Cure. Well now all of you on the East Coast can catch them live. They'll be in NYC and DC over the next few days. We'll be sure to catch them playing with the Violent Femmes this Saturday on Pennsylvania Ave in DC.

If you don't care to catch the Femmes, then head up the street to catch our friends Virginia Coalition at the 9:30 club. Otherwise, check out their site and catch them on their summer tour.

In other RadioMojo news, we won't be having a featured artist this month. Instead we'll be updated all the content on the site. The featured artisit will return next month and it's a great one.

7:54PM EDT Mon Jul 2, 2003
What a show. A few Mojo'ers caught the Pearl Jam show last night. For a major tour they use little in the way of lighting effects and they don't need it. The band just playsand their music is enough. Read Kat's review for a bunch more about the show.

In other Mojo news. . . we've got music. What else is there? Music, music, music. A bunch of new and older bands coming your way over the next month. So keep listening and keep sending us your comments.

11:39PM EDT Mon Jun 23, 2003
Hey Everyone. The site might look a little quiet, but we got lots going on. We're working on bringing you some great new bands and some tour info for the ones you already like. We've also got a team hitting the DC Pearl Jam concert so we'll be bringing ya a review of that next week.
So just hold tight and keep on listening to the music. Even if the site isn't updated, the playlist is.

00:21AM EDT Mon Jun 2, 2003
The music just keeps rollin' in. Finch, Visqueen and Kill Hannah have contributed the latest tracks in the rotation. Finch's "What It Is To Burn" is the band's awesome addition to the rock ballad library. If you're not singing along by the end of this song, then you need to go get checked out by a doctor. I'm serious. You need help. Go now.
Also on the new list is Visqueen's "Mrs. Elder". A bit more upbeat then Finch, but rocking still the same. To those of you that caught one of their West coast shows, please drop use a line at feedback@radiomojo.com and let us know how it was. If we like it, we might just post it on our reviews page.
And lastly, we'd like to welcome Kill Hannah to the RadioMojo family. If you haven't heard of Kill Hannah then you better meet them fast. Hailing from Chicago, KH is about to make their major label debut later this summer. We've grabbed a couple of their older tracks so you can hear their sound. Their almost a Boy George meets Orgy(the band not the sex act). We're sure you'll love it. So keep your ears open for "I Wanna Be a Kennedy".
As always, keep sending us your feedback and requests.

00:10AM EDT Tue May 20, 2003
Hey Everyone. Just some quick updates about what's been going on. It was great meeting everyone at the Chilli Cook off. It was a great band line up with Saliva, Cold, Third Eye Blind, Three Doors Down and others. If you missed it this year you should plan on making it next year. On Sunday we picked up the Spectre show at the Black Cat. If you haven't caught Spectre live yet, you need to get to one of their shows. They're getting ready for an East Coast tour, so hop over to their site (http://www.spectreband.com) and see when they're coming to your area.
Touring the other side of the country is our friends Visqueen. They're driving through California right now and dropped us a line. Check out or new page, "Letters from the Road" to see when their next dates are.
In Music news, a lot of CD's come out today. We're gathering every last penny to get the new releases and expect to see some of the tracks coming to RadioMojo soon. In the meantime we'll be adding tracks from Switchfoot, Finch, Cold and Audioslave.
That's it for now. Keep sending in your Requests and as always, your Feedback.

17:05PM EDT Sat May 10, 2003
Updates! Updates! Updates! Boy have we got updates for you.
First, please note the new navigation at the top of the page. We've expanded the News, On Air and About sections of the site to cover the other pages we had and a few more. We know have a page for CD reviews, a page for upcoming concerts and concerts reviews, a page for new music and a page for local music(local to the Washington, DC Metro area). We think you'll like it.
Our store is starting to fill with new RadioMojo.com gear. We even have a thong for all the lovely ladies out in radio land. . . and probably a few guys too. So keep checking out the store, even though we'll probably do a nice big update when it's all set.
Music news. . . we've got some great new bands coming your way. Right now we're stuck on Visqueen, 3against1 and Virginia's own Spectre. Spectre is out on tour right now but will be doing a homecoming show at the Black Cat on May 18th. Come and check them out. If you're out on the West Coast, keep a look out for 3against1 based in sunny San Diego and Visqueen hailing from not so sunny Seattle. Both are on tour in their areas, so check 'em out.
Coming up on the horizon, we're looking at some new bands from outside of the United States. After all, we do broadcast worldwide, so we want to bring some new flavors to the playlist. We're sure you'll like it. And of course, with May 20th being a huge release date for some studios, we'll be bringing all the latest from the bands you already love.
That's it for now. Keeping hitting us with your requests, and as always, your feedback is always appreciated.

09:14PM EDT Tue April 23, 2003
Hey All. Got lots going on in RadioMojo land, so here's a little snipet. Most importantly, new music. We'll be adding tracks from Visqueen, Spectre and 3against1. We hope to be adding a few more new bands from out West over the next couple weeks as well.
We also have a few new pages coming to the site. We're adding a review page and will be breaking the News page down into segments so it's easier to get what you want. Cool? Cool.
Oh, and don't forget to vote in our new poll on the Staff page!

00:10AM EST Tue April 08, 2003
Howdy Partners. Got some quick updates for you. The 33k stream is FINALLY live! The playlist is decent right now and will be growing in the next few days. We've moved some things around on the homepage and will keep doing so to keep things lively. You'll always be able to find the navigation at the top of the screen. We haven't been happy with the newsfeed that's been on the right of the homepage so we're dropping that to the News page for now and that spot will be filled with something shortly. Lastly, if you need help listening to the stream, click on "How to Listen" at the top right of every page, just under the link to the DSL stream. That's it for now. Keep sending us your feedback!

13:30PM EST Wed April 02, 2003
Just a quick update. If you're reading this on the homepage then I'm sure your eyes have crossed over Kat's review of the Tonic show we checked out last week. If not, go back and read it.
We also have a new rant up on the News page and I'm sure more will be coming soon!
That's it for now. Go back to laughing at Strong Bad, picking your nose, and listening to radiomojo.com!!!

01:40AM EST Thur March 27, 2003
Gotta love an accoustic show. A couple of us Mojo'ers hit the Tonic show at Iota, an intimate club in Northern Virginia. We hope to have a better review of the show up soon, and will hope to have concert reviews as a new feature.
In other news, we've added a nice little feature to the right side of the main page. It's a tour search powered by Pollstar. Type in the name of the band you'd like to see, click on go and you'll see their tour dates scheduled.
That's it for now. We hope to have some more updates over the next couple weeks, so keep checking back. As always, feel free to give us your feedback and requests!

02:27AM EST Mon March 23, 2003
Sorry to all that have been trying the 33k stream. We've been having trouble updating it, but it should be up later this week, so keep checking back. We've also added a section to the main page showing the current and last two songs played. It may not work for all browsers right now, so if it's not working, click on the "On The Air Now" graphic in the center of the page to get a view of what's playing now.
You'll notice a list of links on the right side of the main page. This is a new music newsfeed. It covers the music industry in general and not just rock news, so you can get coverage for all of your music likes.
That's it for now. Remember to keep sending us your feedback and requests!

10:31 Est Sun Mar 9, 2003
Things are pulling together. We're working on some news features for the homepage and need to update the rotation list, but the links still work for the streams, so that's really all that matters, right? Yeah, we think so too.
As always, feel free to drop us a line with any requests you have or any suggestions. requests@radiomojo.com or feedback@radiomojo.com.

00:04 EST Mon Feb 10, 2003
The playlist has been extended to show the last 10 songs we've added to the rotation. For a more extended list of songs you can hear, click on Rotation in the top navigation(note: rotation page not finised).
The mainpage is coming along. We've added buttons so you can send us feedback and song requests. Due to the amount of e-mails we receive, we may not be able to respond to all e-mails, but they will be read.
